The distance between an idea and something people use is shorter with a clearer process.

Start with the problem, not the feature

A feature list is easy to imagine. A painful, frequent customer problem is much harder to find. Start with observable behavior, existing workarounds and the cost of doing nothing.

Make assumptions visible

Write down who the customer is, what they are trying to achieve, why current options fall short and what must be true for your idea to work. Rank each assumption by risk.

Learn before you scale

A prototype, interview or small landing-page experiment can answer a major question faster than a fully built application. Treat each test as a chance to improve your direction.
